<%image(20070710-IMG_3516_mattina_takis_samaras-1.JPG|320|218|Γραμματέας, Πτυχιούχος, Προιστάμενος)%>

Globalization and the new Internet Business model.

July 4th, 2007 -- Posted in About Takis | No Comments »

They say that just before you wake up in the morning you see the best Dreams.
Maybe this is true, maybe those are the dreams you remember.

Yesterday morning, just before i wake up, this thought came to mind.

A flashing image of the future, a snapshot of the future society.

The new business model will be internet based.
Internet has grew so much the last few years, that will be THE thing.

I like the expression Global Village.

Internet is like a Global Village.

Like when in the old times, there were villages, where everybody visited the same places, the market, the “kafeneio” and the square with the old tree in the middle.
Everybody knew everyone, and could have direct contact with him.

Like then, now, with the power of instant global communication, people can visit the same (virtual) places, can create communities, they way THEY like, and all of them know some common corners of the internet. Find me an internet user that doesn’t know Google.
It’s like saying that a villager doesn’t know where the church is!!

They believed in the power of God, and they obeyed the priest’s word,
Now they believe in the power of money, and they respect Google’s power.

No matter where you are from, what language you speak, in the virtual world, everybody is equal! At least when you don’t know him!
It relies on one’s mental abilities to gain another’s interest. There are no beautiful, nor ugly persons, you can’t prejudge somebody by his appearance. Respect is gained not by the clothes you wear, but by the words you say.
That’s why chat rooms are full of non so real world sociable people. They have built their online image, they have invested time on it, and they are proud of it.
They are proud of their virtual self-expression something that doesn’t exist actually.
That’s kind of scary. People start to invest time and money to build their virtual self! What psychologists say about that? Is it acceptable?
What makes something acceptable or not is how popular it is.
If everybody starts wearing a yellow wristband because it is considered trendy, those who don’t have it will want to have it, even if they don’t actually need it! They want it because the few trendy people wear it. If many people wear it, it won’t be trendy then, and those who still wear it will be out of fashion!
Weird huh? That’s how fashion works..

Modern world, modern people modern thoughts. The train is running fast, should you hurry to catch it or not?

People in Modern countries think that if they miss the train, they will forever be in captivity of old times.
People in poor countries run to catch it. They believe its the train of happiness. If only they knew..

Some people just don’t care about trains. They pack their stuff, and start walking on the cliff. They walk off the bitten track, but those are who really enjoy what surrounds them. Traveling in a train, you can’t see so much around you. You only see the people in your wagon, if you are awake, or if you are not working with your brand new laptop.
